Radicals of Russell Square

The area around Russell Square and the British Museum has a long and notable history of being a base for radicals, reformers and revolutionaries, many of them living side by side with prominent figures from the establishment. A small part of this history is commemorated in memorials scattered around the streets, but much of it remains hidden or unremembered, despite the enduring impact it has had on our way of life. This map plots that history through the places where the people who shaped this culture lived, stayed or worked, and highlights the important contribution they made to British heritage.

The map measure 420 x 594 mm (16.5 x 23.4 inches) when open, and 148 x 210 mm (5.8 x 8.3 inches) when folded.
